WPI Viking AIS16P
Cooper Interconnect through aquisition has established a broad range of interconnect
products designed for the Mil/Aero market, for which Wings is an authorized distributor.
WPI Viking was founded in 1955 when they began supplying electrical connectors for
the military and telecommunication markets. The Viking product line has become very
broad both in the number of products, customers and market they now serve.
There is a whole family of miniature circular connectors relays sockets, contacts,
insertion/extraction tools, crimp tools, and the feature of this bulletin is the
re-useable splice AIS16P.
Yes, a re-useable splice. The AIS16P is ideally suited for use throughout the entire
pressurized area of the aircraft especially in the oxygen systems and the emergency
track lighting.
The splices come in three colors; blue, white and red, the material used is M344
nylon and has a 94v-0 rating and will not support combustion.
The basic color is blue, but red is also available. Part Numbering is as follows:
AIS16P = blue
AIS16P-1 = red
AIS16P-2 = white
They utilize a size 16 contact; BACC47CP2T (socket) and BACC47CN2 (pin), which Wings
also carries stock. The splices are used by Boeing and Boeing sub-contractors. A
Boeing part number has never been assigned.
